IRIS

For all the times I ignored You, Thinking I can do it alone, I kept aloof and refuse to acknowledge You. And that time I close my eyes, Believing You are never there, forgive me. Those times I turned my back, To the blessings and favour You gave to me, And the light of happiness You brought to me. Naive have I become, When I refuse to acknowledge Your Worth. I return to you in repentance, You are the Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful I seek for your mercy Oh my Lord, You are the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful, Oh Allah, I seek Your blessings and grace.

In every smiling face you come across, And in every laugh and tear that melts the heart, And very word of inspiration that strengthens the mind, There is always an untold story of patience and perseverance. When people are in misery and hope seems to be lost, And when things falls apart and heroes want to give up, During the rainy days and windy night that seems to have no end, Patience and prayer has always been the way out. Stories of men and women who have gone astray, All in the name of seeking what is not lost. In the house of herbalists and magicians you find them. Seeking potions and remedy which is totally false. What assurance do you need than that of your Lord? When He promised you ease not once but twice. After hardship comes ease, And verily after hardship comes ease, He says, Be patience and remain steadfast. For after the darkest cloud comes the heaviest rain.
